Festine July 12, 6: I have been trying to install microC pro suite and microC pic16d688 on my windows 8 system but I found out that the software does not have drivers for windows 8.
Similarly, the PIC16F port pins that are multiplexed with ADC channel inputs are also configured as analog inputs on a power-on reset.
